Incumbent Democrat Josina Morita tells us bluntly that her residents cannot handle any additional property tax increases, but then says she’s nevertheless open to “all options in the future,” given the county’s bleak financial outlook. Can’t have it both ways, commissioner. Her Republican opponent, Aasi Siddique, says he wouldn’t raise property taxes but would instead seek unidentified “alternative measures” for new revenue. That sounds like a non-starter to us. We’ve been impressed in the past with Morita and believe she gives District 13 the best shot at competent representation.
Josina Morita is endorsed.
