GOP state Rep. Joe Sosnowski, 49, is a reliable fiscal conservative who opposes new taxes. While virtually all candidates told us affordability and property taxes are the top issues in their districts, Sosnowski gave us perhaps the most concrete proposal for lowering taxes — stopping unfunded mandates, increasing government consolidation, eliminating wasteful spending and considering property tax increase caps to help keep people in their homes. “We have been driving away job producers for decades, and we have one of the highest overall tax burdens already,” he told us.

He has been running against his Democratic opponent, Peter Janko, since 2022. In the prior two contests, Sosnowski won handily each time. Janko shared good ideas on ethics reform and changes to address problems with pretrial electronic monitoring. He goes astray on tax policy.

Joe Sosnowski is endorsed.
