A man is dead after a verbal altercation turned physical in the West Pullman neighborhood Saturday, according to authorities.
The 33-year-old was shot in the chest in the 11500 block of South Halsted Avenue around 4:30 p.m. during an argument the man got into an argument with a group of individuals, Chicago police said.
The victim was driven to nearby Roseland Community Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead, police said. He was later identified as Davion L. Jackson of the city’s Chicago Lawn neighborhood, according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office. An autopsy is scheduled for Sunday.
Police had no information on the shooter as Calumet Area detectives continued their investigation.
