A South Deering man accused of killing two former girlfriends was charged with fatally shooting an EPIC student a year ago, according to authorities.

Anthony Nunnally, 21, who is already facing separate first-degree murder charges for two teenage girls killed a year apart, was charged with a third murder charge, Chicago police announced Saturday evening.

The third case involves the Sept. 30, 2025 shooting death of Travon Freeman, who was shot in the 8300 block of South Baker Avenue. According to published reports, Freeman, 17, was a well-regarded student at the now-closed EPIC Academy in South Chicago.

In front of a judge last August, prosecutors called Nunnally a  “scary, stone-cold killer,” claiming he killed Sierra Evans, 19–a recent high school graduate who had dreams of becoming a hairdresser–in an East Side alley in October 2024 and then 17-year-old Gabriella Arellano in October 2025.

Authorities said Nunnally dated each victim before their deaths. During an argument with a new woman, Nunnally told the woman he would “kill her like he killed his last girlfriend,” Assistant State’s Attorney Mike Pekara told a judge in August.

At that hearing, prosecutors noted that Nunnally was suspected of a third slaying, but noted he hadn’t been charged with that case at the time. Nunnally, who was already in jail custody for the separate homicides, was arrested in jail Friday by Chicago police and trackers with the U.S. Marshals Great Lakes Regional Fugitive Apprehension Task Force.

Authorities didn’t provide a motive for Freeman’s death, but additional details are expected for a detention hearing scheduled for Sunday at the Leighton Criminal Court Building.
