1 man dead, 1 hospitalized after falling into Lake Michigan 

One man died and another was hospitalized after falling into Lake Michigan last night, Chicago police said.

Three men were walking around 31st Street Beach in the 3100 block of Eriksen Drive at about 11:06 p.m. when they all fell into the lake. Police said a witness and firefighters helped rescue the group from the water.

One of the men inhaled water and was transported to UChicago Medicine where he was later pronounced dead. Another man also inhaled water and was transported to Insight Hospital, where he is listed in fair condition, police said.

Police said the third man declined medical attention and walked away from the scene.
