A Mundelein man and a Chicago woman were both charged Friday in a shooting on a CTA bus Sept. 30 that injured two people in the Englewood neighborhood, Chicago police said.
Tyrese Jones, 19, was charged with two counts of attempted first-degree murder, and two felony counts of aggravated battery of a transit passenger, police said. Destiny Jones, 18, of the Grand Boulevard neighborhood, was charged with one count of attempted first-degree murder, as well as two counts of of aggravated battery of a transit passenger, police said.
On Sept. 30 in the afternoon, a 65-year-old woman and a 57-year-old man were on a CTA bus traveling in the 300 block of West 63rd Street around 4:40 p.m. when they both were struck by gunfire, police said earlier. One of the victims was critically wounded.
Both suspects were arrested in recent days in the Englewood neighborhood after they were identified as the people involved in the September shooting that wounded a man and a woman on a CTA bus, police said.
Both suspects are scheduled to appear at detention hearings Friday.
