Two people were shot and wounded, one critically, while riding a CTA bus in the city’s Englewood neighborhood late Wednesday afternoon, authorities said.
The victims, a 57-year-old man and a 65-year-old woman, were on the bus in the 300 block of West 63rd Street at about 4:40 p.m. when they were both struck by gunfire from an unknown suspect, according to Chicago police.
The man was shot in his left flank and transported to UChicago Medicine in critical condition, police said. The woman was also transported to UChicago Medicine with a gunshot wound to her left arm. She was initially listed in fair condition.
Wentworth Area detectives were investigating.
