
EAST DUNDEE’S OKTOBERFEST SET FOR FRIDAY, SATURDAY
East Dundee will hold Oktoberfest from 5 to 10 p.m. Friday, Sept. 25, and 2 to 10 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 26, outside The Depot, 310 N. River St.
Friday’s musical lineup includes The Bratwurst Brothers and The 1985, according to the village website. On Saturday, the stage will feature Ed Wagner’s Brass Band, Big City Nights and Bon Journeyed.
Food and drink will be available from a dozen local vendors and will include German food and beer among other options. There also will be an artisan market, inflatables, face painting, a scarecrow display, a beer stein holding contest and a hammerschlagen (nail driving) tournament.

‘HOLLYWOOD REVISITED’ PERFORMANCE AT HEMMENS CENTER
“Hollywood Revisited,” a production featuring costumes worn by Marilyn Monroe, Elizabeth Taylor, Julie Andrews, Gene Kelly, Judy Garland and other stars, will be presented at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 25, at The Hemmens Cultural Center, 45 Symphony Way, Elgin.
Greg Schreiner, a concert pianist and curator of the Hollywood Museum, has designed the show to display classic film glamour through live music, song, dance and stories, according to the Hemmens website.

Elgin Community College will present “BritBeat — The Immersive Beatles Experience” at 7 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 26, at the Blizzard Theater in the ECC Arts Center, Building H, 1700 Spartan Drive.
“BritBeat” blends live performance with multimedia imagery to pay tribute to the Beatles’ music and history, according to the Arts Center’s website. The show was created by Glenbrook South High School graduate Chris Getsla and has become an international production, the site says.

‘JUANGA: THE ERAS CONCERT’ STAGED SUNDAY AT HEMMENS
“Juanga: The Eras Concert,” a celebration of the music of Juan Gabriel, will be held at 6 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 27, at The Hemmens Cultural Center, 45 Symphony Way, Elgin.
The three-act performance will explore the different eras of Gabriel’s career with a lineup of singers backed by a live band and full mariachi orchestra, according to a news release. There will also be a market set up in the Hemmens lobby featuring local artisans, merchants and food vendors, with the market and other pre-show activities starting at 4 p.m.
“We are excited to partner with the Hemmens to create an event that celebrates our culture and brings generations of Mexican and Mexican American families together through music, memories and community,” David Suarez of Si Sabo Media said in the release.
