A man was arrested after an unidentified woman was found fatally stabbed overnight in the Englewood neighborhood on the South Side, Chicago police said.
Shortly after 1:30 a.m., the victim was discovered lying on the ground in the 7300 block of South Emerald Avenue with a stab wound to the neck. She was taken to UChicago Medicine where she was pronounced dead.

Officers canvassed the area and found a man lying on a nearby porch with a sharp object in his hand, and a stab wound to his right arm, police said. The man also was taken to the same hospital where he was listed in critical condition.
A weapon was recovered at the scene, and the man was placed into police custody. Detectives are investigating.
