Chicago police have ended an hourslong standoff in Logan Square with someone holed up inside a residence that began Monday afternoon and stretched into the overnight hours Tuesday.

The Police Department’s SWAT team was sent to the 3400 block of West Wrightwood Avenue following an emergency call there some time before noon Monday.

It’s the same block where former Mayor Lori Lightfoot resides, but a spokesperson for her said she’s OK and the incident does not involve her. There have also been no reports of any other injuries on the block.

One witness told the Tribune on Monday afternoon that police appeared to be repeatedly calling out to a man who lives in the building that was targeted by the SWAT response, asking him to drop a rifle out of a window.

Chicago police said an investigation is ongoing.
