Waukegan police are continuing to investigate the shooting death of a man this week on the city’s east side.
Authorities said the victim was an adult Hispanic in his 40s or 50s. His identity has not yet been released.
Police responded at about 11 p.m. Monday to the area of Lincoln Avenue and 9th Street for reports of gunfire. Officers found the victim, and Waukegan firefighters responded to provide medical aid, but the man was subsequently pronounced dead.
The Lake County Coroner’s Office was notified.
