A suburban man apparently suffered a heart attack before crashing his car at a Lake County Forest Preserves site, the coroner’s office said Friday.
Arkadius Knych, 49, of Streamwood, crashed his car at about 1:15 p.m. Wednesday, the Lake County Coroner’s Office said.
Police who responded to the Van Patten Woods Forest Preserve on West Russell Road near Zion found Knych unresponsive.

His vehicle left the roadway and traveled through thick brush and a tree line before coming to rest near a parking lot at the preserve. Knych was pronounced dead at the scene.
An autopsy showed he suffered a cardiac event causing the crash, the coroner’s office said.
