A 64-year-old woman and a 25-year-old man were both fatally wounded late Wednesday morning in a shooting on the West Side in the Garfield Park neighborhood, Chicago police said.
Shortly before noon, a man was standing in the 200 block of South Pulaski Road when someone approached, pulled out a firearm and shot him, police said.
The victim suffered multiple wounds to his body, and was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital where he was pronounced dead. An unresponsive 64-year-old woman was located nearby in the 300 block of South Pulaski Road with a gunshot wound to her chest. She also was taken to the same hospital where she also was pronounced dead.
Police said the gunman fled south in a black sedan on Pulaski Road after the attack.
