A 16-year-old boy was fatally wounded in a drive-by shooting Tuesday night in the Little Village neighborhood, Chicago police said.
Shortly before 11:15 p.m., officers responded to a call of a person shot in the 2600 block of South Hamlin Avenue. A teenage boy was outside when a vehicle drove past and someone opened fire, striking the boy to the head and the chest, police said.
The boy was taken in critical condition to Mount Sinai Hospital where he later was pronounced dead.
No one was in custody, and detectives were investigating.
