17-year-old boy fatally wounded in South Chicago shooting

A 17-year-old boy was discovered fatally wounded outside overnight in the South Chicago neighborhood, Chicago police said.

Shortly before 1:30 a.m., the teenage boy was discovered with multiple gunshot wounds to his body in the 8300 block of South Oglesby Avenue. He was taken in critical condition to UChicago Medicine where he later was pronounced dead.

The circumstances surrounding the fatal shooting were not immediately available and detectives were investigating.
