
REGISTRATION OPEN FOR TOUR DE NAPERVILLE
The annual Junior Tour de Naperville for children ages 3 to 12 will be held Saturday, Aug. 8, at Wolf’s Crossing Community Park, 3252 Wolf’s Crossing Road.
Different age groups will start at separate times: 3- to 5-year-olds at 9 a.m., 6- to 8-year-olds at 10 a.m. and 9- to 12-year-olds at 11 a.m.
Children must wear helmets and can ride bikes, tricycles or Big Wheels, a Naperville Park District news release said.
Parents are welcome to accompany their children around the course or cheer from the sidelines. Older children are encouraged to ride the 1.2-mile loop course as many times as they can, the release said.
Participants will receive a T-shirt. Support-and-gear stops will be located throughout the course to distribute water.

CITY CANDIDATE PACKETS AVAILABLE ON TUESDAY
Naperville residents who want to run for mayor or city council can pick up their candidacy petitions starting at 8 a.m. Tuesday, July 28, at the Naperville Municipal Center, 400 S. Eagle St.
Positions open on the municipal ballot in 2027 are mayor and four city council positions, all of which are four-year terms, a news release said.
Candidates must be a registered voter living in the city of Naperville for at least one year.
The filing period starts at 8 a.m. Monday, Oct. 19, and closes at 5 p.m. Monday, Oct. 26, the release said.
A consolidated primary election will be held Tuesday, Feb. 23, if there are more than 16 candidates for council or four candidates for mayor. The consolidated election will be Tuesday, April 6.
SUNRISE ROTARY CLUB HOLDING FUNDRAISING RIDE
The 29th annual Rotary Ride hosted by the Rotary Club of Naperville Sunrise, raising money for the Grow Wellness Group, Little Friends and Naperville YMCA, will be held Sunday, Aug. 9.
Early bird registration of $40 per person is available through July 31. The cost increases to $50 on Aug. 1.
The ride starts and ends at Trek Bicycles and Naperville Running Company, 3416 S. Route 59, and is designed for beginning and experienced cyclists. Out-and-back routes of 21, 41 and 62 miles are available, a news release said.
The 21-mile route takes riders through Oswego, while the 41-mile route travels through Yorkville and the 62-mile route goes to Silver Springs State Park.
Riders may start anytime between 6:30 and 10 a.m. However, cyclists riding the 62-mile route must start by 8:30 a.m. and those riding the 41-mile route must start by 9:15 a.m.

FALL PARK PROGRAM GUIDE AVAILABLE NEXT WEEK
Naperville Park District will post its autumn program guide online Wednesday, July 29.
The guide contains information about classes, programs, community events such as Wonderful World of Wheels and Halloween Happening, fall and winter youth basketball, and winter break camps.
New art programs have been added, including Pottery: Haunted Houses and Gingerbread Houses; Creating with Clay: Holiday Ornaments and 3D Winter Trees; and Creating Art Journals, a news release said.
New science and technology programs have also been added.
Program registration starts at 8:30 a.m. Monday, Aug. 3, for residents and 8:30 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 6, for nonresidents.
Fall youth basketball registration starts at noon Tuesday, Sept. 1, for residents and noon Thursday, Sept. 3, for nonresidents.
