CHILDREN CAN COLLECT TREATS AT HALLOWEEN HAPPENING
Naperville Park District will host its free Halloween Happening, geared to children 10 and younger, from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 25, at the Riverwalk Grand Pavilion, 912 Honorary Sindt Memorial Court.
Children can take part in activities and games in which they can collect treats and win prizes.
Costumes are encouraged, but they must be family-friendly and cannot offend community standards, a district news release said. Masks must allow for clear peripheral vision and have openings so the eyes can be fully seen. Props or accessories that resemble or could be mistaken for real weapons are not allowed.

BAGGED LEAF AND YARD WASTE COLLECTION PROGRAMS COMING
Naperville is offering residents two leaf disposal options.
The free bagged leaf and yard waste collection program will run from Nov. 2 through Dec. 11.
According to city documents, Groot Industries will collect leaves and yard waste on residents’ regular garbage days without yard waste stickers. Materials must be placed in 32-gallon paper yard waste bags or clearly-labeled cans or carts.
The Bulk Curbside Leaf Collection Program will begin in the coming weeks.
Three bulk collection cycles are scheduled to begin Oct. 19, Nov. 2 and Nov. 16, city documents said.
To participate, residents should rake leaves into the street by 6 a.m. on each cycle’s start date. Leaves should be clear of the storm drains. Crews will pass each home once per cycle, and some cycles may take up to two weeks to complete.
An interactive map is available at naperville.il.us/leafcollection to track the progress of the collection cycles. The bulk collection is scheduled to end Nov. 25, but weather or other circumstances may prevent crews from completing the final cycle, according to city documents.
Residents should use the bagged collection program for late-falling leaves or leaves remaining after bulk collection ends.
