A fight at a Lincoln Park bar led to the fatal shooting of a 30-year-old man late Sunday night, police and the neighborhood alderman said.
Around 11:45 p.m., police said two men got into an argument with the victim at 2240 N. Lincoln Ave., took handguns out and shot him multiple times in the head and body. He was pronounced dead at Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center soon afterward, police said.

His identity hadn’t been publicly released as of Monday morning.
According to a police report obtained by the Tribune, the two alleged shooters first fled the area, but one man returned, said he’d played a role in the shooting and handed over a gun. Near North District (18th) police arrested the man and found that he had a concealed carry license, the report stated.
Officers recovered one other gun from the crime scene and were still pursuing the second shooter, the report said. Charges were pending against the man in custody as Belmont Area (Area 3) detectives continued their investigation.
The 2200 block of Lincoln Avenue has several bars up and down the block, though it wasn’t immediately clear from police records which bar the fight began in, or whether it was one farther away.
In an email to ward residents Monday morning, Ald. Timmy Knudsen, 43rd, referenced his office’s recent push to put more regulations on late-night bars on the block following a June shooting in the same area and said police would patrol the block permanently on weekends.
“I am hopeful and confident that the Department of Business Affairs & Consumer Protection will view this homicide as sufficient evidence of the need to support specific restrictions on this stretch,” Knudsen wrote to constituents Monday. “This homicide should have never occurred.”
