Two juveniles have been arrested in connection with shots fired in the area of Bowen Court and Regent Street in Elgin, officials said.
The incident took place about 2:15 a.m. April 26, and while no suspects were apprehended at the time, officers were able to confirm that gunfire had occurred there, an Elgin police news release said.
An investigation by the police department’s Special Investigations Group led to the arrest of one suspect Tuesday and another Wednesday. Both are being held at the Kane County Youth Home.
The juveniles were charged with several felonies, including four counts of aggravated unlawful use of a weapon and one count each of aggravated discharge of a firearm, unlawful possession of a firearm by a street gang member, reckless discharge of a firearm, mob action and an FOID card violation (not eligible to have a firearm).
No other details were released because of the age of the defendants, the release said.
