Man pulled from Belmont Harbor Wednesday morning in Lakeview.

Chicago police have opened a death investigation after a 63-year-old man was pulled from Belmont Harbor in the Lakeview neighborhood Wednesday morning, officials said.

The police Marine Unit recovered a man from the water near the 3500 block of North Belmont Harbor Drive, and he was pronounced dead on the scene, officials said.

Thursday morning, the man was identified as Timothy L. Peyton of Indiana, according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

Detectives were conducting a death investigation pending an autopsy scheduled for Thursday.
