A 19-year-old woman was left in critical condition late Friday night following a shooting on the West Side in the Garfield Park neighborhood, Chicago police said.
Shortly before midnight Saturday, officers responded to a call of a person shot in the 4300 block of West Adams Street and found a victim unresponsive. A 19-year-old woman had suffered gunshot wounds to the right cheek and right side of the neck.

She was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital where she was listed in critical condition, police said.
A preliminary investigation revealed the shooting happened inside a residence where a handgun was recovered at the scene, police said.
A person of interest was taken into custody. Detectives were investigating.
