A Lindenhurst man has been indicted in a 2024 fiery car crash in which his younger brothers were killed, according to Lake County prosecutors and court records.
A grand jury this month returned a 21-count indictment against Adrian Tiscareno, 21, charging him with aggravated driving under the influence and reckless homicide, officials said.
Tiscareno was driving the car that crashed in the 1700 block of Grand Avenue in Lindenhurst, killing Antony Tiscareno, 16, and 11-year-old Alonso Tiscareno.
The crash happened on July 6, 2024, at around 11:30 p.m. First responders said the car was in flames when they arrived, and the three brothers and a fourth passenger had to be extricated.
The younger brothers were pronounced dead at the scene, and Adrian Tiscareno and the passenger, who was 20 at the time, were hospitalized.
The grand jury indictment was issued on Wednesday, and according to court records, Adrian Tiscareno had not yet turned himself in for processing. Court records say a warrant had been issued for his arrest.
An obituary published last year said that Antony Tiscareno would have entered his junior year of high school last fall and was looking forward to obtaining his driver’s license. His younger brother, the obituary said, was a shy boy who had grown into “the life of the party.”
Alonso “had the most contagious laugh and loved to smile. Felt very proud of everyone loving his famous beans con chorizo,’’ the obituary said.
The brothers enjoyed video games and playing with their siblings, it said.
