Free of charge
I live five miles from Wisconsin, so usually I fill up my car across the border. Gas has always been cheaper there, even before Biden was elected. Easily 40 to 80 cents cheaper per gallon. But I recently filled up in Waukegan, and I had to laugh. A huge sticker was on the pump that explained the Illinois legislature suspended the gas tax until the end of the year. Why did they not slap a huge sticker on the gas pump when they raised taxes on gas, and take credit for that? Conversely, the Lake County Board refuses to suspend its gas tax. Why don’t they slap a sticker on the pumps explaining there is a four cent per gallon tax on gas thanks to your County Board? They refuse to suspend their gas tax, and claim property taxes would have to go up. It’s nonsense. How about they suspend a road project or two. Maybe quit putting up decorative streetlights or fancy rainforests in the middle of every roundabout? Just my suggestion, free of charge.
Held accountable
Is something wrong here? A troubled individual threatens suicide, and threatens to kill his family, and his father signs for his guns purchase? What’s wrong with his parents? This individual needed professional help. Police were called to the home several times for domestic issues. The parents should be held accountable.
No freebies
I have been working and getting robbed of my money for Social Security since I was 14, and when I plan on retiring in nine years at 65, I will only get money for two years before Social Security will run out of money. Yet, Biden plans on bailing out the union pension plans that are set to run out of money in 20 years, not 11, and forgiving the debt of mostly rich people who took out student loans of their own free will. How does that work? I guess I am dumb, I should have went to college and got in a union instead of working hard to earn my $110,000 a year. Oh wait, I was taxed like crazy with no freebies.

To the person that always seems to know how Trump would have done things, and how bad they would be. If Trump would have just let Putin walk right in and take Ukraine, then Putin would have not lost tens of thousands of his military personnel, including many generals. And then Putin would not look like a fool, and be showing how incompetent his military is. Tell me why he waited until Biden was in office? No fear of Biden or the rest of the heads of state in other countries that are just like Biden right now, ruining this and their countries. When North Korea tested intercontinental ballistic missiles, Trump threatened with fire and fury, and China and Russia were behind Trump for more sanctions.

I agree a woman who has been raped should have the option for an abortion, but she also needs to file a police report. This abuser could go on raping women without ever being caught. If an abortion is needed to save a woman’s life, I’m for that also. If most women who have sex are too lazy to protect themselves, or have the guy protect himself, then why should the American people pay for their abortions time and time again? These are woman who abuse their rights. Ladies and gentlemen of the past were taught that if you play with fire, you get burned.
Biden deserves respect
This is in regards to “Stuck With The Idiot”: This was and is the most ignorant item ever posted. The person submitting this is not only rude, but also ignorant. Biden is our current president and some respect should be given to him, no matter what. What are you teaching your children? And maybe your mother should have used birth control.
For the good of democracy
This is to the individual who wrote “Bad shape,” commenting the Jan 6 committee is wasting taxpayers’ money and to leave it to the FBI. This just makes me laugh, when Republicans have wasted millions on past investigations. This investigation is more than warranted and valid to save our democracy. Former President Donald Trump staged a violent coup with his minions to overturn a legitimate election with lies and violence. Even today, he continues to incite others with his continued lies, threats of violence and hate speeches. We need this investigation for the good of democracy.
Not democracy
The DOJ is an independent agency and is smart, waiting to see what other evidence will come forward from this committee. I just hope the DOJ is brave enough to bring warranted charges against all those involved, including the former president, Rudy Giuliani, John Eastman, Steve Bannon and others. This country is in bad shape, but it is from the many Republicans who support the lies, violence, conspiracy theories and the insurrection. This is not democracy.
