Make politicians drive

President Biden said that he could possibly drop the gas tax, but it would shortchange the road and bridge repairs that we desperately need. How about making all these politicians drive themselves in their own vehicles, and we’d have enough money to lower the gas tax. I’ve always had to drive myself to work. Why can’t these politicians? And they don’t need these big, fancy cars? We waste so much money in this country on our politicians. That’s the problem, the politicians. How many of them are in the pocket of the oil companies? That’s what I’d like to know. You don’t go from $2-something a gallon all the way up to almost $6. That’s ridiculous, in less than six months. I can’t believe this. Inflation is going to go sky-high. We need to get rid of him.

They ain’t right

This guy who put in “Truth, honesty and integrity”: You’ve got to be kidding me. I haven’t seen one Democrat who was honest. Look at what’s happened since they took office. Just a year-and-half, gas tripled in price. Look at the food prices. We’ve got a four-year high. Give me a break. It’s time to get rid of these Democrats. I call them lefties. Whatever you want to call them, but they ain’t right.

Living on a budget

Warren High School continues to face financial challenges. I, as have many others, continue to face financial challenges. If the district fails, the district plans to shorten from eight classes to seven classes, which will eliminate elective classes. Elective? Something that isn’t necessary. Many of us taxpayers don’t plan to change things. We already have, skimping on necessary medicine, less medical visits and less testing, all necessary. Skimping on food resigning our gym membership. Maybe Warren should try living on a budget like the rest of us are trying to do.

Walk the walk

The Waukegan police and fire departments are looking for good people to apply for positions that are open. So, there are people out there that like to talk and keep talking, but not walk. Let’s see you folks do a better job than the police officers that lay their lives on the line. Come and try being a police officer. Let me see you be a better police officer. I bet you they’re not going to get very many applicants.

No parking

How is it conducive in Waukegan to have all these automotive repair shops in areas where there’s no room for them. They have no parking spaces. They have no areas to store vehicles. Why are we issuing business licenses to these companies that insist on coming into Waukegan? Why don’t they put it in the city that they’re coming from? Most of them come from the outside. They’re not Waukegan residents putting up repair shops. Come on, mayor, what’s going on here? Let’s investigate that.

Disrespectful

This about the Juneteenth celebration held in Waukegan. It was a mess. How can you charge people $20 to get inside of a church? When you charge $20 per person to get inside a church, another $30 on Saturday for a meal and another $80 for breakfast, it was disrespectful to Black people here in Lake County.
