Democratic paranoias

Don’t politicians in Washington have any real work to do? The Jan. 6 event has been investigated extensively two times already, but that is not enough for the politicians in Washington. We have to have another one that will take place in the evening and on television. Enough already. We are tired of the Democratic paranoias that take up valuable time and money that should be spent on our economy, crime, gas inflation, etc. But no, they continue to spend all our tax money on efforts to discredit Trump. Get over it, and do the job you were elected to do.

Laugh out loud

I had to laugh out loud recently. So election season is upon us. I saw an advertisement on the television. As have everyone else. Who is this evil billionaire Ken Griffin that supports Richard Irvin for governor? Typical attack ad. But it was paid for by J.B. Pritzker for governor. First off, why is the evil billionaire Democrat J.B. Pritzker getting involved in the Republican primary? Second, why is a Democrat trying to derail the campaign of an African American? Just wondering out loud.

People being stupid

Waukegan can’t even allow a farmers market. How wacko is that? Main Street Waukegan should cut their ties to the city until Waukegan can get their act together to support community activities. This is crazy. What’s up with this town? The place has so much potential, but it’s all wasted by people being stupid.

Eyesore

What is the city of Zion doing about the eyesore nursing home on 27th Street? The former Crown Manor nursing home sits with both broken and boarded-up windows, and an overgrown front lawn. The city could take it in hand, clean up and remodel it into something useful, or knock it down. It would help the crime situation, property values, etc. to see a resolution soon.

Put the blame where it belongs

So many readers are falsely blaming President Biden for high gas prices. Is President Biden responsible for the highest gas prices in the world being Hong Kong at $10.87 a gallon, followed by Norway at $10.70 a gallon? I think not. High gas prices are global, not only in the United States. Several years ago when gas prices were high, people traded in their gas guzzling SUVs and pickup trucks for more fuel efficient cars or electric vehicles. Why isn’t that happening this time around? Put the blame where it belongs.

Where was it?

What happened to the farmers market that was supposed to be in Waukegan across from the library on June 12? People are down there, and nothing is in the parking lot. Waukegan is getting to be a big disappointment. Don’t tell us about it if you can’t make it happen.

When will it change?

Our communities, state and country are at the mercy of politicians, We the voters, do we really have a say? The victims in Texas, the grief of families everywhere, do they really have a say? The fact that we have to abide what the politicians say and do. They say they have a bipartisan agreement for gun violence because 10 or more Republicans are on board so no filibuster. Really? We need to change things folks. Who you vote for and the party politics has us all at their mercy. When will it change?

Bigger fish to fry

I say this with a giggle. You know you’re getting really old and cranky when you complain about homeowners putting up a tent for a party. You have nothing better to do than to take away people’s happiness? Good grief, simmer down now. There are bigger fish to fry in the world today.
