Supporters are gathering at Byrne Elementary School, where Chicago Public Schools clerk Judy Mahoney works. Mahoney is the longtime clerk who is set to lose her job at the end of June. She became paralyzed after being hit by a drunken driver in 2017 and was moved to Byrne because her old school wasn’t wheelchair accessible.
