Two more people have died with the coronavirus in DuPage County, officials reported Wednesday, including one at a Burr Ridge nursing home.
There were 93 new known COVID-19 cases, making a total of 873 in the county. The death toll is at 28. Of those, 17 were residents of long-term care facilities, the DuPage County Health Department said.
The most recent deaths included a woman in her 80s who was a resident of the care facility in Burr Ridge and a man in his 60s who’d been living in the community in DuPage. Both victims had other medical conditions. Health officials count all deaths of people with COVID-19, regardless of what roles their other diseases may have played in their deaths.
There have been 113 cases of multiple-case outbreaks among DuPage County residents.
Of the 28 deaths, eight have been residents of the Chateau Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Willowbrook. Nine deaths have occurred at other long-term care facilities.
