Forget your money and grab your Illinois ID, as the Shedd Aquarium (1200 S. Lake Shore Drive, 312-939-2438) is offering free admission through the end of September for Illinois residents with a valid Illinois ID card.
The deal truly offers free admission, as it includes access to all exhibits, including Stingray Touch, as well as access to the special “Amphibians” exhibit. The only additional cost would be $4.95 if you want to take in a movie in one of the aquarium’s special 4D seats. Children accompanied by an adult with a valid Illinois ID will receive free admission as well.
Normally, adult tickets to Shedd costs $19.95 for Chicago residents and $39.95 for non-residents, so the offer should save you a decent chunk of change, no matter what part of the state you’re visiting from.
