Two men robbed a St. Charles cell phone store at gunpoint Monday afternoon, making off with numerous items, police said.
According to St. Charles police, officers were called to Verizon Wireless, 2700 block of East Main Street, around 4:39 p.m. for reports of the robbery.
Police said there were three employees and no customers inside the store when two men entered the business. One of the men pulled out a handgun and demanded merchandise from the employees, police said. The men took an undetermined number of cell phones from a storage area before running out a back door, police said.
St. Charles police said they are working to determine what exactly was taken and to possibly review any video footage of the incident.
Police are also consulting with other local police departments which may have experienced similar robberies to determine if the incidents are related.
