Aurora Police Department spokesman Dan Ferrelli said the man was sitting with a group of people outside a home in the 200 block of High Street around 4:35 p.m. when the shooting occurred.
Witnesses said that a teenage gunman walked between two houses and began firing toward the group. The 22-year-old was struck at least once and sustained serious but non-life threatening injuries, Ferrelli said.
Following the shooting, the suspect fled on foot.
