Aurora police continue to investigate two shootings that left three people injured last week, police spokesman Dan Ferrelli said.

Ferrelli said a 29-year-old man received a flesh wound around 11:15 p.m. Sept. 4 after shots were fired in the 500 block of LaSalle Street.

The man told police that he was walking on the block when two men walked up to him. Police said the men had bandannas covering their faces and one of them was armed. The armed man fired several shots, one of which struck the victim.

After the shots were fired, the two men wearing bandannas ran to an SUV that was parked in the 100 block of Warren Avenue, police said. The vehicle was last seen traveling southbound on Broadway.

Three homes and a parked vehicle were also struck by bullets during the incident. Ferrelli said that two women, ages 32 and 38, received minor injuries when they were hit by flying debris while inside one of the homes struck by bullets.

Police continue to search for the men involved.

Ferrelli said police are also investigating a Sept. 2 shooting that targeted a group of people standing in the yard of a home in the 400 block of Pennsylvania Avenue around 6:40 p.m.

According to Ferrelli, a man standing on the corner of Plum Street and Pennsylvania Avenue fired multiple shots toward the group and then ran away.

No one was injured, but a vehicle parked in the 400 block of Pennsylvania Avenue was struck and sustained about $350 in damage.

Anyone with information about the shootings is asked to call investigators at 630-256-5500 or Crime Stoppers at 630-892-1000.
