A 39-year-old man was seriously injured Tuesday night after rolling his car in an unincorporated area of Blackberry Township, the Kane County Sheriff’s Department said.
According to deputies, Reese Bernier, of Earlville, was driving southbound on Route 47 near the intersection of Kenmar Drive around 8:04 p.m. when he lost control of his car and went off the road.
A preliminary investigation showed that after leaving the roadway, Bernier steered back onto Route 47, causing his car to roll over. Bernier was ejected from the vehicle. He was transported to Delnor Hospital in Geneva with potentially life-threatening injuries.
Deputies said no other vehicles were involved in the crash.
The crash is still under investigation. No tickets have been issued at this time.
Route 47 was closed between Hughes Road and Main Street Tuesday night while deputies investigated the crash.
