Aurora police are searching for a man who allegedly tried to lure two middle school girls into his car Thursday morning.
Aurora Police Department spokesman Dan Ferrelli said the sixth-grade Jefferson Middle School students told police they were walking near Lynda Court and Best Place around 8 a.m. when they were approached by a man in a silver sedan, similar to a Dodge Avenger.
The man allegedly told the girls to get into his car, Ferrelli said.
Both girls immediately ran toward Wal-Mart, 2100 block of West Galena Boulevard. Police said the man allegedly followed the girls to the store, but drove off after the girls went inside.
The suspect was described as a Hispanic man in his early 30s with long hair and wearing a backward black baseball cap. Ferrelli said he spoke English with a Spanish accent.
The suspect’s vehicle may have had a possible partial license plate of E-73 and also had a small spoiler on the back, police said.
Anyone with information is asked to call Aurora Police Investigators at 630-256-5500 or Aurora Area Crime Stoppers at 630- 892-1000. Callers to Crime Stoppers can remain anonymous and qualify for a cash reward of up to $5,000 for information that leads to any arrests.
