An Aurora man reported having a gun pulled on him Friday while he was trying to break up a party at a vacant home.
According to Aurora police, the 52-year-old man said he noticed several cars arriving in the 800 block of New Haven Avenue around 10:30 p.m. on Friday and found it odd.
He told police he followed several people to a vacant home on the block where about 30 people were gathered.
Believing the teens were going to use the house for a party, the man said he called police to intervene.
When the caller let the group know that officers were on the way, he said he was approached by a man who threatened to shoot him if he didn’t leave.
Police said the caller told the suspect he was not scared and was going to stay there until officers arrived.
At that point, police said the suspect allegedly pulled out a pistol and began walking toward the caller.
The caller said he told the gunman that he wasn’t afraid to get shot, at which point dozens of party-goers began running toward their vehicles to leave.
Police said the gunman allegedly got into a red Ford Expedition and fled the scene.
Later that evening, around 11:50 a.m., the gunman allegedly showed up outside the caller’s home and yelled to the man that he was “finished”.
