According to a release from Fox Lake police, a large fight in Pug Mahones bar resulted in both the shooting, which occurred at 2:45 a.m., and a patron being pushed off an outside deck and injured.
Bouncer Tim Reid, 27, was transported to Advocate Condell Medical Center, where he was treated for a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to the right shoulder.
Keith Lee Jr, 21, of the 2000 block of Westwood Drive in Waukegan, who police said is suspected of the shooting, was arrested and transported to bond court, where he was remanded to Lake County Jail on $750,000 bail.
Lee is charged with aggravated battery with a firearm, aggravated discharge of a firearm and possession of a defaced firearm.
Police said the incident began as a “large fight” at the bar, and when bouncers attempted to break it up, shots were fired, and one of the bouncers was struck. No one but the bouncer was hit, although several more shots were fired as suspects fled the area in a 2005, black Ford Taurus, official said.
The release stated that the suspects were “followed by a quick-thinking patron who kept police informed on their direction of travel.” The suspects were stopped by Fox Lake police on Rollins Road and taken into custody without incident. A .38-caliber revolver was located in the vehicle, according to police.
Two suspects in addition to Lee were taken from the car, a North Chicago woman and a Round Lake man, and police said the matter remains under investigation for possible charges against the other individuals involved.
During the brawl, police said a patron was injured when he was pushed down the stairs of the back deck and his face struck the back of a pick-up truck. He was eventually located by police at Centegra Hospital McHenry and treated for his injuries.
Fox Lake police were assisted in the incident by the Antioch, Lake Villa and Lakemoor police departments and the Lake County Sheriff’s Office.
