A Round Lake Heights man is being held in lieu of $1 million bail and potentially faces up to 50 years in prison following his indictment on charges of possession of methamphetamine with intent to deliver.
Daniel Garcia-Sino, 43, of the 900 block of Rollins Road in Round Lake Heights, was arrested at his home Jan. 26 after an investigation by the Lake County Metropolitan Enforcement Group (MEG), which conducts drug investigations, according to the Lake County State’s Attorney’s Office.
Garcia-Sino was indicted this week by a Lake County Grand Jury on charges of unlawful possession of methamphetamine with intent to deliver, a Class X felony for which he could be sentenced to 12 to 50 years in prison upon conviction, and unlawful possession of methamphetamine, also a Class X felony, carrying a penalty of eight to 40 years in prison.
According to the indictment, Garcia-Sino was in possession of more than 400 grams but less than 900 grams of the drug.
Garcia-Sino has also been known as Miguel Delgado-Uribe, the indictment stated. Court documents show that he was also cited for possession of an altered identification card and possession of drug paraphernalia at the time of his arrest.
An arraignment hearing for Garcia-Sino is scheduled March 5 in Lake County Circuit Court before Judge Victoria Rossetti. He is being held in Lake County Jail with his bail set at $1 million.
