Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

OMG! With all the Internet users under the age of 25, you’d think people that age would be tweeting up a storm.

Nope. Not true, at least according to new research from Nielsen and its NetRatings panel, which found that only 16 percent of Twitter users are that age and younger.

That got me thinking. Who is tweeting? And who isn’t? The results may surprise you, but at the very least I hope they amuse you.

Not tweeting

Teens: Apparently, the younger you get, the less likely it is you’re on Twitter. Morgan Stanley published an insightful piece last month from one of their summer interns that said teens love themselves some Facebook but never use Twitter.

Zac Efron: I almost included him in the teens heading because I thought he was like 15. Dude is 22, and apparently among the non-believers.

David Letterman: Told Kevin Spacey it’s a “waste of time.” I know you read RedEye, Dave. Call me. I’ll give you the Top Ten reasons it’s not.

Kanye West: In May, he blogged: “I don’t have a f***** Twitter . . . Why would I use Twitter??? I only blog five percent of what I’m up to in the first place. . . Everything that Twitter offers I need less of.” What exactly are you trying to say to us, Kanye?

Jennifer Aniston: Being the subject of John Mayer’s incessant tweets is enough to drive anyone away from Twitter or social media in general. She gets a pass.

Tweeting

Ben Stiller: @redhourben is new to the social media scene, but he’s totally into it. He admits to using Tweetdeck as his Twitter client, and that’s relatively hard-core.

Sarah Palin/William Shatner: Palin tweets, Shatner reads them indramatic fashion on “Conan.” I’d love to see a Palin Pricelinecommercial.

President John Quincy Adams: The under-25 crowd isn’t doing much, but the over-200 segment is going strong. Why JQA? A high school student checking out his diary entries noticed they were about 140 characters in length so now they’re being tweeted.

Paula Abdul: She’s leaving American Idol. Or is it just an elaborate contract negotiation ploy being played out on Twitter?

Who is your favorite tweeter or who do you think needs to be on Twitter but isn’t? Tweet me, poke me — just tell me.

REST OF THE BUZZ

Gatorade is doing some cool stuff on Facebook. @fififofum informed me of its cool Michael Jordan page here: http://bit.ly/2l6qUs. And it gets better. Vote for your favorite Michael Jordan moment and you could win a trip for two to the Hall of Fame induction ceremony on Sept. 11 in Springfield, Mass.
