The Fenwick boys water polo team continued its march toward a fourth consecutive state championship with a 24-7 thrashing of Lincoln-Way East in the quarterfinals Friday at Stevenson.
John Barrett led the way with five goals, while Tommy Parolin and Chris Bonk each added four.
The Friars face Brother Rice, which defeated Stevenson 16-3, in Saturday’s semifinals. The other matchup pits Naperville North against Loyola. The title game is at 8 p.m. The girls championship is at 6:30.

The most wide-open postseason in years has six of the top 15 teams in the Chicago area feeding into the Thornwood supersectional, where No. 2 Sandburg (25-3) with ace Sara Olson, No. 4 Lincoln-Way Central (29-4) and No. 8 Oak Forest (24-3) are the favorites to claim an Elite Eight berth.
Either No. 3 Barrington (30-3) led by Claire Voris (29-2) or Prospect (26-4) could emerge from the Mundelein supersectional to face the Thornwood survivor June 8 in East Peoria.
The other upper-bracket quarterfinal pairs the supersectional winners from Northern Illinois and Hinsdale South.
No. 5 Lake Park (24-4) or Elk Grove (27-4) figure to face Machesney Park Harlem at NIU.
No. 1 Glenbard North (30-1) and No. 9 Plainfield Central (24-7) are on a collision course at Hinsdale South.
