“The Office: Season Two”
UNIVERSAL, $49.98
Who’s in it: Steve Carell, Rainn Wilson, John Krasinski
Recap: The American version of “The Office” came into its own with Season 2, which, although so far still conceptually inferior to the original British version, has proved at least as funny.
Best extra: There are around three hours of outtakes, deleted scenes, bloopers and other gags (like fake “The More You Know” PSAs for NBC), which is almost like getting several more episodes of the great cast and show.
Secrets revealed: The characters on the show are so carefully and hilariously drawn, it’s nice to hear the actors as they really are on the 10 commentary tracks.
Feature to skip: “Steve on Steve” is just a promo bit recorded while he was out stumping for “The 40-Year-Old Virgin.”
Trivia: The first season of NBC’s “The Office” was a paltry eight episodes, but it performed well enough that Season 2 was a full 22.

“Beavis & Butt-Head Do America”
PARAMOUNT, $19.98
Who’s in it: Beavis, Butt-head, an assortment of dillweeds
Recap: Before “Office Space” and “King of the Kill,” there was “Beavis and Butt-head” and this surprisingly successful full-length movie.
Best extra: “The Big Picture” is a strong retrospective feature with plenty of input from the show’s usually more behind-the-scenes creator, Mike Judge.
Secrets revealed: Judge almost walked away from the project when executives suggested making the movie live action.
Feature to skip: It’s funny, but you can only sit through the slapping montage “The Smackdown” once. Or twice.
