“Electric Blue Watermelon”

Few would have thought Luther and Cody Dickinson, children of producer Jim, would end up musicians this talented. The diverse “Watermelon” brings Delta blues up to the present without losing the spirit of its past. “No Mo” gives a nod to hip-hop and “Teasin’ Brown” to Southern rock, while “Hurry Up Sunrise” ropes in Lucinda Williams for a bit of hippie noodling.

Best track: “Bang Bang Lulu” sounds–in the best sense–like a lost old-school rock track found.
