Corporate siblings CBS and UPN are turning their development eyes toward drama.
CBS greenlit a Jerry Bruckheimer pilot called “American Crime,” which focuses on an upwardly mobile female prosecutor who also is a new mother, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
CBS also is close to “Threshold,” a pilot written by Bragi Schut (“Average Joe”), which centers on a female government contingency analyst–whatever that is–who leads a team of scientists who begin communications with an alien.
The pilot “Triangle” looks at a doctor whose wife vanishes during his Caribbean honeymoon, and “Wildlife” is about twentysomethings in the Los Angeles neighborhood of Silver Lake.
