A fest for kids

As part of the Hyde Park/University of Chicago Arts Fest, kids can listen to stories about the ancient world at the Oriental Institute Museum on Sunday afternoon. At 1:30 p.m they can watch a film that combines live action and animation called “Mummies Made in Egypt,” which will show the reconstruction of what a mummy’s face might have looked like. Then kids can go on treasure hunts where they can discover real mummies of humans and animals in the museum. The Fest also includes a family tour at the Smart Museum, accompanied by an artist and a visit to the 57th Street Art Fair.
