An evening of films titled “Chinatown Files & Other Tales: Women in the Director’s Chair,” featuring works by Asian American women, has been scheduled as part of a number of events in conjunction with Asian Pacific American Heritage Month. The program includes short films such as “Against Filial Piety,” an experimental work that focuses on the Confucian pressure to bear children, and the 57-minute video “Chinatown Files,” about the persecution of Chinese Americans during the McCarthy era.
