During a special event for families, children and their parents can take a short guided tour of “Grandes Maestros del Arte Popular Mexicano” at the Mexican Fine Arts Center Museum to see some of the works of Mexican folk artists. They will see the handcarved wooden dolls from Chiapas, which are dressed in clothes made out of wool, and then create a similar one out of a wooden clothespin and red, black and white fabric for her outfit. During other workshops inspired by the exhibition children can weave colorful pieces of wool on a loom and make an Aztec-style fan out of feathers.
