A Glen Ellyn man pleaded guilty Thursday to committing a vandalism spree last summer at Glenbard South High School and was sentenced to 24 months of probation and ordered to undergo substance-abuse counseling.
Benjamin Wagner, 19, pleaded guilty to criminal damage to state-supported property in a July 8 incident at the school, including damaging security cameras and emptying fire extinguishers.
Wagner told DuPage Judge George Bakalis that he has a severe drinking problem. Bakalis placed him on a probation that allows for the conviction to be suspended if counseling is productive.
Sheriff’s police have contended that a second person was involved, but no one has been charged.
