Forest Preserves Police Chief Ron Davis said they were searching for a 30-year-old man from Evanston who was reported missing and was seen near a preserve.

After arriving, officers found an armed man outside the residence and took him into custody.

Authorities alleged that people were kept as virtual prisoners in Gladys Ibanez-Olea’s Highland Park residence.

The man, whose identity has not been released, will remain in jail in Indiana on local charges until he can be extradited to Illinois, Highland Park officials said.

Police and firefighters responded to the bar at 37895 Sheridan Road at around 5:55 a.m. on July 17 for a fire that caused “catastrophic” damage to the structure, authorities said.

Police located a man believed to have been the shooter outside the residence, armed with a gun.
