We were pleased to endorse Democrat Jessica Vasquez in the primary election, hoping this member of the county board’s audit committee would make good on her promises to bring about efficiencies and improve county administration. She told us she will work to make county revenue less reliant on property taxes and provide effective oversight of financial audits. Her opponent, Republican Ramona Bonilla-Anaiel, is short on actionable ideas. Last year, she reportedly got voted off a local union board after making an offensive Facebook post that her supporters say merely expressed views consistent with President Donald Trump’s.
Jessica Vasquez is endorsed.
