The following homicides were reported in the past week by the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

Michael Moss, 43, was shot and killed in Dolton, while a man who has not yet been publicly identified was stabbed to death in University Park last weekend, according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

Dolton

Moss, a Dolton resident, was shot on the 14700 block of Wabash Avenue, where he lived, according to the medical examiner’s office.

He was pronounced dead at 10:07 p.m. Aug. 29, with his cause of death being multiple gunshot wounds.

The Dolton Police Department did not respond to a request for comment.

University Park

A 23-year-old Chicago man was killed Aug. 30 at an apartment on the 700 block of Red Oak Lane, according to the medical examiner’s office, which did not identify him as his next of kin had not yet been notified.

The man was pronounced dead at 2:24 p.m. Aug 30, and his cause of death was listed as multiple sharp force injuries.

“Over the weekend there was one incident involving the unfortunate loss of life to one individual,” University Park police Chief Vincent Starks said in a statement.

Starks said the case is being investigated by the University Park Police Department with assistance from the Will County Major Crimes Task Force.
