Elmhurst U. to get $1.5 million gift for business school

An anonymous donor who is on the Elmhurst University Board of Trustees plans to give the university more than $1.5 million to establish an endowed professorship and scholarship for the university’s School of Business.

The gift, an estate commitment by the donor, will allow the business school to address its greatest needs. “Because the school has many options for growth, I wanted to give them the flexibility to expand programs and opportunities,” the donor shared via a news release. “I think so highly of Elmhurst and its focus on being student centered.”

Business is one of the university’s most popular areas for students. The scholarship will go to undergraduates in that school, and the endowed professorship will be awarded to a faculty member to support that person’s “scholarly activities.”
