Replacement SNAP benefits applications due Aug. 31
The Indiana Family and Social Services Agency received approval to extend the deadline to request Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program replacement benefits for all 53 counties impacted by the Governor’s disaster emergency for the disaster event on Aug. 11. The deadline for all these counties, which include Lake, Porter and LaPorte counties, is now Aug. 31, 2026.

Households that receive SNAP benefits who lost food due to storm damage or power outages may be eligible for replacement benefits. Affected individuals will need to submit an affidavit, available at https://tinyurl.com/8kr8wy52, for replacement benefits. The affidavit must be submitted by the above deadline and the loss (due to power outage, flood, etc.) must be verified. For assistance in filling it out, call (800) 403-0864 or 211.
